Sci-Fi Scarborough 6th and 7th April 2019

Sci-Fi Scarborough takes place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April at Scarborough Spa.

If you love Star Wars, Red Dwarf, Harry Potter and just about anything in-between, this is the event for you!

This annual convention is a must for fans of this special genre.

The weekend will also includes live music, tournaments, competitions, films and lots more!

Ticket prices: adult weekend ticket £30, adult day ticket £17.50; child day tickets £5; students tickets available. 

Under fives go free! And there are additional events taking place at Scarborough's Indoor Market Hall during the weekend.

Books by the Beach 2019

Calling bookworms everywhere!

The annual Books by the Beach festival takes place 11th to 14th April 2019.

Guests this year include Michael Palin (sold out), Allan Johnson, Jenny Colgan, Lynne Truss and Joann Fletcher to name but a few of the literary names that will be coming to Scarborough for this special gathering. 

This eclectic book festival includes a variety of genres, themes and writing styles.

Sport, history, gardening, murder-mystery and exploration ... and many things in-between!

The Red Lea is just a short stroll from the action, which takes place at Scarborough Central Library, Vernon Road; at the Stephen Joseph Theatre; Scarborough Yacht Club and Lighthouse, the Spa Theatre and other locations in the town.

Tour de Yorkshire 2019

The annual cycle race, the Tour de Yorkshire, will wheel its way into Scarborough in May 2019!

With both women's and men's races taking place from Thursday 2nd May to Sunday 5th May inclusive, the challenging routes include the coastal stage during this iconic event.

Scarborough is the finish for the women's Stage 2 race on Saturday 4th May. The route tackles the up hill and down dale undulations between the start in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, before ending in Scarborough. The distance is 135km.

The men's race follows the same route on the same day and forms Stage 3 of their event.

The atmosphere is fantastic and the finish will take place in Scarborough's North Bay.

The women's race is the first of its kind for the Tour de Yorkshire and is sponsored by Asda.

The men's race has its fifth outing in 2019and has been upgraded to HC status by the UCI.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre 2019

It's that time of year again ... Scarborough Open Air Theatre is announcing their top line-up for the 2019 summer season.

And a number of big acts are heading our way this summer!

The dates and artists that have been announced so far are Hacienda Classical on Saturday 8th June, Sir Cliff Richard on Wednesday 26th June, Years and Years on Thursday 18th July, Lewis Capaldi on Saturday 20th July, Madness on Friday 19th July, Jess Glynne on Sunday 21st July and Kylie Minogue on Thursday 1st August. Lewis Capaldi returns to Scarborough on Friday 30th August.

These are bound to be a sell out so grab your tickets here.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre is in Scarborough's beautiful North Bay, just moments from golden sands and sparkling seas. Lots of places to eat nearby, with some parking and Peasholm Park just over the road.  

Open top buses run between the South and North Bays making the Open Air Theatre easy to get to. Dates correct at time of posting.

Scarborough Jazz Festival 2019 - Get In Early!

Scarborough is famous for its lovely beaches, impressive castle ... and its annual Jazz Festival!

Always a sell-out, if you're a jazz fan, then there's an early bird ticket price now available.

The dates are 20th to 22nd September 2019. 

The full line-up has yet to be announced yet it is bound to be brilliant as the best musicians gather at Scarborough Spa for this prestigious event.

The early bird weekend ticket price is just £90 (saving £10) and is available while stocks last until end of March 2019.
